Circa 1870. A very rare sky blue (light blue) item. Baccarat's opaline crystal glass is so named because it resembles the opal gemstone, and it was originally produced as a substitute for porcelain, and therefore used for decorative items, making it a very rare piece. It is a large, luxurious item with gold edging. As this piece is from before 1936, it does not have the Baccarat hallmark. It is an extremely rare item.
