【Product Description】 Purchased over twenty years ago when I started mountaineering in the snowy mountains, I used these snowshoes several times, enjoying the maintenance of the rattan surface, such as wiping it with linseed oil. However, I haven't used them since and they've been stored for a long time. As I decluttered my mountain gear, I decided to list them for sale. While taking photos and examining them closely, I discovered a crack in the rattan on the underside of the left snowshoe's claws (see photo). I noticed that only that part had four wires wrapped around it, unlike the right snowshoe. I didn't notice this when I was using them, and I now realize that it must have been in this condition since I bought them. The cracked area is tightly reinforced with wire and string, and I had no problems during the few times I used them. Currently, the rings don't deform or bend even when a person's weight is applied to the snowshoes. However, there is a possibility that the crack could affect future use, so please be aware of this. Compared to recent metal (aluminum) snowshoes, wooden snowshoes have the advantage of snow not sticking to them easily. They are still in a condition where they can be used in the snowy mountains, or I would like to sell them to someone interested in rattan snowshoes, perhaps as a retro antique decoration.
