Hand-woven wool Chinese antique rug. Floral pattern in four shades of blue, brown, and cream. Made in the 1920s for export to Europe and America. Material: Pile: Wool, Warp: Cotton Size: 117cm x 62.5cm (excluding fringe), thickness approx. 0.5cm Purchased as an antique and used in a hallway where people walk. No pets, children, or smokers. There are some pile loss, stitching errors, and minor stains on the back, but there is little odor or dust, and it is in relatively good condition for its age. The fringe is clean, but it has been restored with attached fringe (it is often repaired in later generations because the threads can break or get dirty). I have cleaned it at home before listing it, but please purchase it if you understand antique rugs. The 10th photo is a comparison with a modern Chinese wool carpet (Muni carpet). The cream color is slightly dull, but the indigo color is similar. The texture is smooth and thin, and it feels light. It's not as thick and stiff as a Muni carpet, nor is it as plump as a recent Chinese silk carpet, nor is it like the fluffy Nabeshima Dantsu or the coarse Ako Dantsu.
