At the age of 20, he studied sculpture in Italy and returned to Japan after learning #Western sculpture techniques. After returning to Japan, he was taught polychrome techniques by his father, Fuzan Hirano, and is the only #sculptor who conveys the polychrome techniques, a #Japanese traditional technique, to this day.
