This is a cast iron iron. The main body and handle can be unlocked and removed by pulling out the central nail. (Originally, there should be a wooden knob, but only the pin remains.) It is unclear whether it was used by placing coal or charcoal inside as a heat source, or by placing it on an iron stove to store heat. Although the usage is unknown, it is a very old item.
