I bought this about 7 or 8 years ago to store my child's stuffed animals, but my child didn't play with stuffed animals much, so it hasn't been used much. The elastic cords around the edges have deteriorated over time. There's no stickiness, but they're loose. They're easy to replace, so I recommend buying your favorite elastic cords and replacing them. There are replacement elastic cords that came with the purchase, one of each color, and they haven't deteriorated. Also, as you can see in the 7th image, the edge of the lid is slightly discolored. It's a very cute and convenient storage item, so I'd like to pass it on to someone who will use it.
