The Child Welfare Act was significantly revised in fiscal year 2012, with substantial changes made to services for children with disabilities. As a result, "Child Development Support," which does not restrict access based on the type of disability or even if a disability is not yet confirmed, "Visiting Support for Daycare Centers, etc.," which provides home-based support through individual benefits for the first time and supports the development of children with disabilities within the community, and "After-School Day Services," which supports after-school activities for school-aged children with disabilities and enables the provision of consistent developmental support from infancy to adulthood, were introduced. These services, coupled with the establishment of the "Child Disability Consultation Support Service," which introduces care management methods to child disability support, are expected to mark the beginning of a new era in child disability support. This handbook is the first practical and theoretical book aimed at understanding and smoothly implementing the three services: "Child Development Support," "Visiting Support for Daycare Centers, etc.," and "After-School Day Services." It is also the only text that answers the questions and concerns of those in the field and contributes to the development of developmental support. In response to the rapid increase in child day-service facilities after the publication of the previous edition, and based on the "After-School Day Service Guidelines" and "Child Development Support Guidelines" issued after the previous edition, this new edition has been completely revised to reflect the latest policy trends.
