This is a set of two mont-bell caps: the Stretch O.D. Cap and the Reflec Cap. ① is for UV protection, and ② reflects light at night, so they were used safely for commuting to school. These are adult products, but they could also be used when the child was around a kids' size 160, by tightening the rear adjuster.
