The so-called Koshien baseball tournament was canceled from 1941 to the end of the war in 1945, but the 1942 tournament was held only once during the Pacific War by the Ministry of Education for the purpose of boosting morale. It is not counted as an official championship tournament and is called the "Phantom Koshien." 16 schools participated, and Tokushima Commercial won the championship. It was not permitted for batters to dodge the ball, as it was "contrary to the spirit of attack," and dead balls were invalid. In addition, player substitutions other than for injuries were prohibited, making it a tournament with strong military overtones. Both the badge and the ribbon show signs of aging, but I believe they are in a reasonable condition. I think it is a valuable item. I would be happy to pass it on to someone who will cherish it.
