I bought this at the second Mishima Town Craftsmen's Festival in Fukushima Prefecture because I liked its cute shape. The person who made this was weaving in Niigata. The mountain grape baskets they made were very popular at the time, and I had to wait two hours to finally buy one. I remember the price was around 20,000 yen. The deciding factors were the excellent grape bark and the cute shape. Initially, it didn't have a shoulder strap, so I used a strap that matched a brand-name bag. It's shown on the last page. The way the edge is fastened is different from the current style, and it looks neat. I used it about twice and then, without many opportunities to go out, I stored it in a chest of drawers. I haven't seen this small basket very often; it's overall soft and lovely.
