They have been washed once. There are no pets or smokers in the home. They are long, like over-the-knee socks, and very warm. You can wear them over other socks or wear them alone for extra warmth. They are convenient to slip on quickly in the early morning when the room isn't warm yet. Since they are 100% wool, hand washing is recommended.
