Okinawa Sanshin Makabe Style Kuroki (Black Wood) with Honkawa (Genuine Skin) Single-Ply This sanshin, crafted by the renowned artisan [Yoshimitsu Uehara] in Motobu, Okinawa, was purchased with the intention of having a long-lasting instrument after winning the Ryukyu Classical Performing Arts Competition. I spent an entire day comparing the sound of various kuroki sanshin in the shop and chose this one for its strong, yet gentle and warm tone. Unfortunately, my work became very busy, and I was unable to attend lessons. I didn't want this beautiful instrument to go to waste, so I am now selling it. I played it for about 30 minutes on two occasions as a jiutai (chorus) for a local eisa performance, and it has been stored at home since then. There was a small scratch on the left side of the joint between the sao (neck) and chiga (body) from the time of purchase, but I didn't mind it. Please check the last image, where it is circled. This listing is for the sanshin only. I hope someone who appreciates its value will purchase it.
