I found this while sorting through my family home's belongings. It was carefully stored away in the back of the sideboard. It's about 50 years old. I heard that the previous owner loved it so much that they went to the location and ordered several of them, but I don't know the specific place of origin. (I wasn't very interested in lacquerware, so I'm sorry.) I think it's a very thick and well-made piece. It would be lovely for both Japanese and Western settings, and would be perfect for small Japanese sweets or candies.
