The belt is genuine leather. I bought it over 10 years ago and loved using it, but I developed a metal allergy and have kept it in storage for a long time. Although there is a feeling of use, it was originally given an antique finish. Also, I have wiped off any dirt, etc., in preparation for listing, but since it is amateur work, it is not perfect. There is also some verdigris in places. Regarding the battery, although it is a handmade item, it is a specification that allows for battery replacement at a nearby watch store. However, the battery is also dead and I have not been able to confirm its operation, so I believe it will work, but please understand that there is a possibility that it may not work before purchasing.
