This is a cotton fukusa (silk cloth used in tea ceremony). It's made from Ajrakh cotton, an Indian block-printed fabric. It's more affordable than antique sarasa (printed cotton), but has a very atmospheric feel. Rather than for tea ceremony use, please enjoy displaying your favorite small items on it. The lining is made from antique brown cotton, a natural, undyed color. The tannins in it are said to have insect repellent and antibacterial effects. Approximately 18 x 20 cm, handmade.
