This is a large, 28cm Sakura bisque doll, without a wig or bonnet, just the body. It's a Sakai doll, marked with the SK mark. The head is bisque, and the body is made of a material slightly harder than regular composition, like a kneaded material. The bisque head is unglazed and painted. There are no cracks or chips, but there are some scuffs. The sleep eyes work, but are loose and shift, so soft paper has been used inside the head to prevent them from falling out. The wig is old human hair, but has faded with age. There is no pate. The bonnet and dress are probably original from the time, and despite their age, there is no major damage. There is some fading and deterioration like holes, but they are still in a condition suitable for viewing. They are sewn on and cannot be removed, so I was unable to provide images of the body. As far as I could tell, there doesn't seem to be any noticeable damage. When touched, there is a growler in the stomach, and it sometimes cries out as if remembering, when moved. It makes a "Bweh" sound, which isn't very cute, so please don't be surprised (lol). This is a valuable pre-war Sakura bisque doll. It's large and has a nostalgic presence, making it a lovely doll.
