I made a square neck blouse by deconstructing a Meisen kimono. I made the length a little longer and added slits on the sides, so I've priced it slightly higher than square neck blouse ①. The original kimono was in beautiful condition with no stains or damage. (Photos 10-13) After being unpicked, it has only been sterilized with a high-temperature iron. The black base with red and white stripes is striking. The tape in the middle has a cute floral pattern and looks like Tyrolean tape. Because it's Meisen, it's thin, but it's a color and pattern I'd like you to wear in the fall and winter. It has a moderate luster and a lovely firmness, typical of Meisen. The fabric has a moderate thickness. I added gathers at the chest to create a pullover style. I think it would be lovely to wear it over a turtleneck in the fall and winter, or as a single layer in the summer. Silk kimonos are very precious. It's a lot of work to unpick a kimono, but it's wonderful to be able to enjoy the feel of Japanese fabric in everyday life. It's also a good point that you can enjoy the unique colors and combinations of Japan. I enjoy sewing as a hobby, specializing in straight stitching. I remake old kimonos like Tsumugi, Meisen, and Komon, as well as furoshiki (wrapping cloths). Since it's handmade by an amateur, there may be needle holes, remaining threads, small scratches, and fold lines that can't be removed even with ironing.
