I made a mini tote bag by patchwork using warm wool tweed and corduroy. The back uses embroidered fabric with a butterfly pattern. It's a compact size, just big enough to hold a cell phone, keys, and a paperback book. It's a "smartphone tote" or a "paperback book tote," instead of a smartphone shoulder bag. Since it doesn't have a gusset, it doesn't take up much space and can be carried in your main bag.
