The five-inch namasu dish is the perfect size and incredibly convenient. While the shimmering Kin-de style is beautiful, this one is recommended for everyday use as it's moderately ornate (^^). Believed to be a work from the late Edo period, it features delicate paintings of pine, bamboo, plum blossoms, chrysanthemums, butterflies, and scrolls, giving it an elegant feel. I purchased it from an antique shop and have used it a few times. Please be aware that there are scratches and kiln marks characteristic of antiques, as well as areas where the gold paint has faded. (I've tried to capture these in the photos as much as possible.) The blue sticker indicating a chip in the second photo was on the dish when I purchased it (this one is unused), but there are no visible chips, and it only slightly catches when you run your fingernail over it.
