Thank you for viewing. These are three-quarter drilled loose Akoya pearls cultivated in Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture. Three-quarter pearls are pearls that have been drilled about 1/4 of the way through from the hole. These pearls were processed for use in brooches and large umbrella hardware, so the top part, opposite the hole, tends to be relatively clean. Pearl sizes range from 5 to 10mm. All are single-hole drilled with a hole size of 0.8mm. They are a mix of round to baroque shapes. The weight is 154 momme, or 579g. There are approximately 715 pieces. These are pearls that were rejected for some reason. The red marks on the pearls are dye that adhered during the dyeing process. Please remove them by gently scraping with a blade or similar tool.
