These are commemorative targets from the Ogasawara-ryu Yabusame (mounted archery) held at Hokkaido Shrine in 1974, given to participants. Faded, but stamped with the shrine's seal. Made from 45.8cm (1 shaku 5 sun) square target material, cut after use. Includes the original ceremony program. The square target is unused from the San-san-ku Te-byo (ritual sake offering) held at Hokkaido Shrine in 1988. It has cuts on the back to make it easier to break, with the original confetti mechanism intact. It is 27.3cm square. Both items show signs of aging and staining due to long-term storage.
