Unearthed from my parents' storage room. A set of two-tiered jubako (lacquered food boxes) from the famous Yamanaka lacquerware. They are large, approximately 25cm square, two-tiered jubako with four removable compartments in each tier. This makes them convenient for dishes with sauces or namasu (vinegared vegetables). Each tier is about 5cm high, and the total height with the lid on is about 11cm. The lids feature a gorgeous gold-colored design with mother-of-pearl inlay, making them perfect for celebrations and the New Year. I'm not sure of the material, but they are not very heavy, so I don't think they are made of natural wood. Being Yamanaka lacquerware, they have a luxurious and substantial feel. They are new and unused, with no visible damage or scratches. However, as they have been stored for a long time, the boxes have some stains. Please check the photos.
