Type: Vase Color: Beige This tokkuri (sake bottle) was used to transport vinegar, a valuable commodity during the Meiji era. It is believed to have been transported by Kitamae-bune (cargo ships). About 30 years ago, my father, who lived in Hakodate at the time, purchased this from a local collector. I have several other items, but I am listing this one in hopes that someone will inherit this valuable historical artifact. I hope that those interested in history, antiques, or interior design will consider purchasing it. The size is approximately 38 cm in height, 71 cm in circumference, 4.5 cm in diameter at the mouth, and weighs approximately 3.8 kg.
