The birth of the CHROME messenger bag was over 25 years ago. A quick-release buckle was needed to quickly take off a bag full of cargo. However, they didn't have the funds to custom-make buckles, so they frantically searched for buckles at a local car scrap yard. That's the root of our iconic seatbelt buckle. The Citizen is made separately inside and out to achieve high durability and all-weather performance, in a sense, made twice. The exterior uses abrasion-resistant 1,050-denier nylon, and the inner liner uses all-weather, military-spec 500-denier truck tarp, sewn into separate bags. Thank you.
