I bought this about 30 years ago from Suzuki String Instruments. It's a German bow, a German bow. It's an Egidius Dörfler with four stars. I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing that correctly. The varnish is dull, and there are small scratches all over. I used it quite a bit for about 10 years, but lately, it's been in its case. I'm the only owner since it was new. A lot of the hair has broken, so I think it should be rehaired. And at that time, having a repairman readjust it would probably bring out more of its potential. The screw for adjusting the tension is a little stiff. I'm not very good at putting things into words, and that combined with my own skills makes it difficult (lol), but I feel like it has a soft touch on the strings and the potential for subtle expression (lol). Oh! If only I were more skilled!! It weighs 134 grams. I think the material is pernambuco. If this isn't pernambuco, I'd want to complain to Dörfler!
