This is a set of three Swatow hand-embroidered cushion covers purchased over 30 years ago at the Mitsukoshi Main Store during the bubble era. *Covers only, cushions not included. Size: Approx. 48 x 48cm (embroidered area) Approx. 45.5 x 46.5cm (cushion area) Material: Details are unknown, but the material has firmness and a crisp feel, so it is probably linen or cotton linen. The color in photo 1 is the closest to the actual color. I love lace and embroidery, and I have gradually increased my collection by finding wonderful items. Since I have too many, I am letting them go to organize my collection. I enjoyed them as decorations on a sofa in my other home for a while, but I have been storing them at home for the past few years. They have been home-cleaned at home. I believe these are Swatow items purchased when China was still a poor country, so the embroidery work is very delicate and beautiful. Since there is a Japanese tag attached, I think it is an item that a Japanese company imported Swatow as fabric and sewed it into cushion covers in Japan (this is just my personal guess). Currently, the number of artisans who do delicate embroidery work has drastically decreased, so it will be difficult to obtain cushion covers of this quality in the future. I believe they are beautiful items without stains or fraying, but I have not been able to check everything in detail because the embroidered areas are very fine. The price reflects the above, so please refrain from purchasing if you are nervous or seeking perfection. They will be folded and shipped. I would be happy if they could be passed on to Swatow collectors or those who love artistic handicrafts.
