Thank you for viewing! ^ - ^ This is a ceramic jubako (tiered food container) that my great-grandmother cherished for special occasions. Crane and gourd pattern Imari ware. I'm told it's from the late Edo period. Ceramic, with lids, 3 tiers Size: Approximately 21 cm in height when all three tiers are stacked, approximately 8.5 cm for the bottom tier only, and approximately 4.5 cm for each of the other tiers. Diameter: Approximately 15 cm You can stack all three tiers, or use one or two tiers with their lids as a container for small items. The diameter of about 15 cm makes it easy to use. As it is old pottery, it is thick and sturdy. It also has weight. I hope to pass it on to someone who can use it beautifully, such as by arranging osechi (New Year's dishes) for the New Year, or using each tier for everyday use. There are cracks and chips. As it is an antique, there are uneven colorings in the gourd pattern. You could also add the splendor of gold by doing kintsugi (gold repair).
