Model from about 35 years ago, acquired used a while back. Appearance: Overall, it shows little wear and tear for its age. No major scratches or dents. Some small scratches on the legs. Some rust on some of the metal fittings. The top disc plate has a crack. One of the knobs for the low-angle mechanism is missing. However, it can be pulled out with your fingers, so it's not a major issue. Operation: No problems, especially since I got it. Maintenance: I wanted to use it comfortably, so I disassembled, cleaned, and serviced it. Especially the telescopic screw parts, which had deteriorated grease and dirt, so I removed everything, cleaned it with parts cleaner, and applied the latest Gitzo-specific grease. All the rubber parts were also removed, cleaned with neutral detergent to remove dirt. I also removed the lid of the upper gear box for inspection and greasing. There was almost no dirt inside, but the up-and-down adjustment spring had weakened, so I adjusted the contact position with copper wire, referring to information on the internet. The torque has also been adjusted so that the legs open with moderate force. There was a peculiar smell characteristic of old items when I acquired it, and it still lingers slightly. This maintenance was performed by me while checking the actual item, and I am not an expert, so please do not have excessive expectations. There may be some dirt that I couldn't remove. (In addition, the official Gitzo in Japan has not handled repairs and maintenance of metal tripods from this era since around 2020, when it was transferred to Manfrotto. They just get angry if you inquire.) When extended, the height can reach nearly 2 meters, including the head. Stability is outstanding. I believe this era is the best among all Gitzo models. I try to describe any defects I notice as much as possible. However, because it is a used item, there is a possibility of unexpected problems, so please purchase with a full understanding. I spent nearly a month and a lot of money on maintenance (just getting the tools was difficult), so I have set a higher price. I cannot accept claims or returns. It may take about 2-3 days to ship.
