This is a table center made by upcycling a used, genuine silk (正絹) fukuro obi (袋帯). The obi is in beautiful condition with hardly any signs of use. As shown in the last photo, it is labeled "Jidai Matsuri no Zu" (Festival of Ages) and "Kuhyaku Orinishiki" (900 Weave Brocade). The design depicts the Jidai Matsuri festival woven on a shimmering gold background. This is a rare and exceptional piece. As you can see in the photos, the pattern is symmetrical, allowing you to enjoy the design facing each other.
