It is said to represent the furious form of Sugawara no Michizane when he became a thunder god. The name "Tobide" comes from the fact that the eyeballs are protruding. 【Shikami】 This depicts a transformed being exposing its malicious intent, the most terrifying of all. Among Noh masks, it is often used along with "Hannya" as a representative of demons. This item was made as a charm to ward off evil. The above is from the instruction manual attached to the item.
