After washing and drying, the tied threads are removed to reveal the finished pattern. ⚠️‼️ Due to international circumstances, the weak yen, and the impact of the pandemic, the production volume in the local area is decreasing year by year due to labor costs, a shortage of skilled artisans, and a decrease in the production of natural indigo. High-quality handmade items with fine patterns are becoming very rare and expensive. ● The dye color is richer and the fabric feels thicker than items found in kimono and Japanese goods stores. Fabric size: Approximately 150cm x 146cm (No. 105114) The display table is 120cm wide x 75cm deep x 35cm high. 100% cotton, hand-dyed indigo No sashiko stitching Color Fastening, Usage, and Washing Tips: ● Color Fastening Dissolve a generous tablespoon of salt in an appropriate amount of cold water (500cc-1L, enough to fully submerge the fabric) in a plastic bag. Soak the fabric in the solution, remove the air, and leave it overnight. Gently rinse with water to remove the salt, and then dry in the shade. This process helps to fix the natural indigo dye and remove the brownish-green discoloration, restoring the original vibrancy of the indigo. If the color becomes dull during use, repeat this method to restore its vibrancy. By repeating this process, you can enjoy the gentle blue color unique to indigo for a long time! ● Usage Be careful as the color may transfer if used with light-colored fabrics or leather goods due to friction. Also, be careful when using it as a bed cover or sofa cover. It is recommended to use it after repeating the color fastening and washing process several times. ● Washing Since the indigo dye will bleed during washing, causing color transfer, it should not be washed with other items for at least 2-3 washes. At my home, I use it as a tablecloth and bed cover. The fabric is thick and sturdy, and it is a beloved item that I can enjoy for a long time while appreciating the changes in color. ※ It is wrapped in wrapping paper and stored in a cool, dark place, but due to the cotton material and natural indigo dye, the areas exposed to air may slightly discolor due to the oxidation of the dye. This can be alleviated by repeating the color fastening and washing process several times.
