It has a narrow neck (approximately 39mm wide). This is a masterpiece that has truly marked nearly 60 years of history. Under various owners, it has undergone crack repairs (from the bridge to the center of the body, on the 6th string side and the 1st string side of the fretboard), and the worn top has been filled in with wood. Additionally, there are eight round wood plugs, possibly to prevent top cracking. The sides and back appear to have no significant repair history. Since it came into my possession, I had a craftsman (someone who can handcraft guitars) inspect it, and I spent a total of 110,000 yen on full maintenance, including bridge replacement (50,000 yen), refretting (40,000 yen), and replacing the nut and saddle with oiled cow bone (10,000 yen each), bringing it to a state where no further work is needed for many years. Furthermore, the pickguard has been replaced with a suminagashi (marbled ink) one. The neck is almost straight. The truss rod also has room to spare. 12th fret, 6th string = approx. 2.3mm, 1st string = approx. 1.8mm The saddle also has more than 3mm of room. Rather than a "scooped" sound, it has a slightly compressed tone. The low end is, as expected of a vintage instrument, superb. It produces a resonant sound that current models cannot match. In addition to this well-balanced, tight low end, the high frequencies have less unwanted resonance, and the slightly subdued highs don't interfere with vocals, making it suitable for recording. It's also suitable for musicians who do sing-along performances. The sound separation is excellent when playing arpeggios or with three fingers. It may also be easy to use when performing on stage with a microphone.
