Because the tip of the carbide is extremely sharp, even with Japanese-style gravers, the edge will easily chip if it is simply sharpened on a flat grinding machine. Western-style engraving uses a prying motion and has a sharp edge, so it is not durable. However, this was resolved by slightly curving the lower blade during sharpening. Therefore, we utilized the Japanese-style sharpening technique and repeatedly practiced sharpening and test engraving to produce this product. Furthermore, it is buffed with diamond paste (single-cut gravers also have a mirror finish on the sides). The engraving angle may be slightly higher than that of general Western-style gravers. The advantage of the curved lower blade is that the force applied to the cutting edge is distributed by the curve, making it less prone to chipping and easier to bend. Also, the engraving marks are clean because they are engraved like a spatula. It is made from approximately 2.4mm round stock, and the length is 50mm before sharpening, which may be slightly shorter after sharpening. The size of the cutting edge has a strong taper value and different opposing angles, so accurate measurement is not possible, and the tolerance is ±0.1mm. M is approximately 1mm, and L is approximately 1.5mm, with intermediate sizes also available. Except for the 60-degree hair engraving, the diagonal dimension is 90° and approximately 1.5 times the opposing dimension. The trapezoid is the dimension of the lower blade tip. It can be attached to a chuck grip or a GRS set screw handle, but the handle's compatibility is not guaranteed.
