When you press on the edge of the plate, the opposite side lifts up slightly. I have many snack sets, and they are all in a similar condition, so I think of it as a characteristic. I inspect them carefully, but I am an amateur, so please forgive me if I miss anything. Vintage and antique items often have small black spots, paint loss, small irregularities, and crazing from the time of manufacture.
