Thank you for viewing. This is a Tomy HO model, perhaps the first release, the EF58 blue locomotive. Back then, I didn't have much allowance, and I could only afford free-form locomotives. I remember being so excited when this product came out and buying it. Even now, I think it has a decent proportion. The power unit has a unique structure with the motor core inside a single die-cast block, driving only one bogie. I remember occasionally disassembling it to clean the commutator, so I'll mention that I've worked on it a few times. During the running test, after a little break-in, it runs energetically with a unique, scratchy sound, just like when it was new. However, the motor smells a bit after running for a long time. It's an old model, so it's probably best not to run it too hard. Both pantographs are in good working order. However, they are not very durable, so please handle them gently. The paint on the body has no noticeable scratches. The roof has some dust and dirt, but I will clean it as much as possible once a buyer is decided. The lights were originally non-functional. The air tank in the center of the body was blue, so I painted it black back then. The black paint on the bottom is slightly chipped. The couplers were originally Baker couplers, but I've replaced them with KATO knuckle couplers since I can't connect anything with the original ones. It comes in its original box. The JNR mark on the upper left of the box is quite nice. It's completely different from the level of modern products, but how about it as a rare item that was well-made for its time?
