A pair of cast iron zodiac figurines of the snake (巳, "hebi") made by Sotaro Saegusa. They are made using traditional Takaoka copperware techniques. Snakes, which repeatedly shed their skin, are symbols of "renewal" and "growth," and are displayed as good luck charms. Golden snakes are also said to be symbols of improved fortune.
