This is a Bambara mask, traditionally used in rituals and festivals in Mali, West Africa. It was purchased 41 years ago at a flea market in Paris. Two horns extend from the forehead, which occupies half of the elongated face. The entire face is covered with extremely thin metal plates, secured with nails and embossing, and featuring numerous carvings. In addition to this, very careful handwork can be seen in the details. There is a crack on the back, but overall it is in good condition for a vintage item. The size is 33 x 11 x 8 cm.
