This is a kimono made from Honba Ushikubi Tsumugi, designated as an Intangible Cultural Property of Ishikawa Prefecture and one of the three major tsumugi fabrics in Japan. This particular piece is a pre-dyed Ushikubi Tsumugi. Ushikubi Tsumugi (Ushikubi Tsumugi) produced in Shiramine Village, Ishikawa Prefecture, is a fabric with very limited production, even among the three major tsumugi fabrics of Japan, alongside Oshima Tsumugi and Yuki Tsumugi. There are two methods of dyeing Ushikubi Tsumugi: pre-dyeing and post-dyeing. This is a pre-dyed kimono, which is less common and is commonly called "Ori-Ushi" (woven Ushikubi). The unique knots of the tama-mayu (double cocoon) and the soft yarn containing a lot of air create a piece that is both rustic and possesses luster and delicate details. The characteristic knot feeling is preserved, and fine stripes of blue and brown patterns are woven into the fabric. The attached certificate of authenticity shown in the photos will also be included. While items with patterns expressed through "post-dyeing" make up the majority of the market, and are often seen, "pre-dyed" items are less common. We hope you will enjoy coordinating it with various obi (sashes) (^^) ● Japanese Color: Stripes of blue, light green, and brown, similar to Mamegara-cha (bean stalk brown) ● Size: Hiro-eri (wide collar), Awase (lined) Length: 162cm Sleeve to sleeve length: 64cm Sleeve length: 49cm Front width: 24cm Back width: 30cm Seam allowance for sleeve to sleeve length: approx. 4cm on one side Uchimi (hem allowance): approx. 7cm *Please note that there may be slight variations due to amateur measurements. ● Material: Both the kimono fabric, lining, and hagari (underskirt) are silk. ● Condition: The basting thread is still attached to the sleeve hem. It has been worn lightly, but it is beautiful and in very good condition. Although it is a beautiful item, please understand that it is a used item before purchasing. ● Other Notes: The colors may appear different depending on your monitor, so please be aware of this if you are particular about subtle colors. #UshikubiTsumugi Designated as an Intangible Cultural Property of Ishikawa Prefecture in 1979 Designated as a National Traditional Craft Product in 1988 We also have many other items for sale, including kimonos, obi, Japanese accessories, antiques, and brand name artists.
