The color is black (the photos were taken with an iPhone, so it looks a bit gray, but it's completely black). It's not thick, but thin and lightweight. It comes with a hood and mask, so it covers your ears and mouth, perfect for cold days! The second photo is just an example of how it's worn; the neck part doesn't actually have this much extra. (It covers the back and front of the neck properly!) I've included actual photos.
