I applied a floral-patterned tole painting to an umbrella stand. (The material was a commercially available item.) I painted it while receiving guidance from a tole painting instructor. Please understand that this is a handmade (amateur) work. The material before painting was expensive, but upon listing, water slowly leaks from the bottom. Therefore, I think it can be used reasonably well if you put a rag in the bottom. (If you intend to use it seriously, I recommend applying a coating, etc.) Thank you for your understanding.
