80s Vintage, Showa Retro Blue Garfield [Extremely Rare] Made by DAKIN (Photo 12) This is an early model imported in the early 1980s (mistakenly mixed in with regular Garfield items during import, as it was not ordered). This blue Garfield is rarely seen. It is extremely rare. I believe it is one of a kind (though I cannot guarantee it). It has been in Japan for over 40 years. Incidentally, this item was not displayed in stores. It was shipped directly from Narita (a buyer's direct purchase, pre-delivery). Frankly, I don't know why it's blue. I wondered if Garfield is blue when it's born, but I couldn't find any blue Garfield on the official website or Wikipedia. It seems that gray Garfield plush toys made by DAKIN in the early 1980s also existed, but I don't know if they were imported to Japan. It still has its tag from 40 years ago (Photo 13). It has been cleaned as much as possible, but the tag has severe stains. Despite considerable effort, this is the best I could do. Please understand. (Photos 14, 15) Also, due to age-related deterioration, it was on the verge of tearing, so I reinforced it with cellophane tape. (Photo 16) The fur on the sole of the right foot is scorched and discolored. It appears to have been scorched by a hairdryer while being dried after washing. (Photo 17) It's not visible when sitting normally, but please refrain from purchasing if this is a concern. Overall, the fur of the plush toy itself is in good condition considering it's over 40 years old (subjective opinion). Size: Approximately 21cm to the tip of the ears.
