The producer was Dave Guard, formerly of the Kingston Trio, and Jerry Yester of the Modern Folk Quartet participated in the mixing, but they didn't bring in a mainland American perspective, and the composition allows Gabby's pure self to be conveyed as is. It was released amidst growing global interest in Gabby, introduced as "Real Story Of The Hawaiian Slack-Key Guitar."
