The DVDs have minor scratches on the cases and discs, and discs for Lessons 11-15 have noticeable scratches (see image 5). I checked them all the way through, and I didn't notice any audio skips or video disruptions. The back of the DVD player's remote control also has scratches (see image 12). The remote control has batteries included. The microphone has some peeling of the design. I have confirmed that it turns on. The batteries have been removed, so you will need to provide your own.
