Thank you for viewing! This is a bag made to order, remade from an obi (sash). The obi is likely Nishijin-ori (a type of woven fabric from Nishijin, Kyoto). The fabric has a beautiful silk sheen, and the blue lame threads woven into it give it a sparkling appearance. It has never been used. The soft, supple cowhide leather with a fine grain feels very comfortable in the hand. The large gusset provides excellent storage capacity. It allows those with a lot of belongings when wearing a kimono to keep their look neat and tidy. It can easily hold two tissue boxes.
