The cloudy appearance is not due to rust or oxidation from no lacquer. The bell is gold brass, known for its warm and rich sound. The slide is nickel, which is responsive, and I feel the balance and operability with the bell are good. I think it's easy to handle for hobbyists and students, and I recommend it to those who want an affordable bass trombone for switching instruments.
