This is "Shionai-yaki" from Murata, Miyagi Prefecture. It appears to be of the same style as the jar, No. 5, in the catalog. It has incised lines overall, and a "kairagi" (frosted) texture on the lower part. It's a small jar with a beautiful view, and many points of interest. Height: approx. 17.5cm, Outer diameter of the mouth: approx. 12.8cm, Inner diameter: approx. 10.6cm, Maximum body diameter: approx. 16.1cm, Bottom diameter: approx. 10.0cm. There is a chip of about 3cm on the rim, and two chips of about 3mm on the bottom (Photos 7 & 8). The wooden box it came in is also included.
