This is a ceramic teacup listing the shikona (wrestling ring names) of the yokozuna (grand champions) of sumo wrestling. It lists the shikona of all yokozuna from the first, Akashi Shiganosuke, to the 58th, Chiyonofuji Mitsugu. This teacup may be a rare type, as they are not commonly found. The inscription on the back appears to say "Kezan" of Arita ware, but I am not sure as I am not an expert. First: Akashi Shiganosuke 55th: Kitanoumi Toshimitsu 58th: Chiyonofuji Mitsugu, etc. I obtained this a long time ago and have hardly used it, storing it in my cupboard. There is some discoloration and initial scratches due to aging. Please understand that this is not a perfect item. Thank you for looking.
