This appears to be a sashiko table cloth that was stored at my parents' home. While small furoshiki (wrapping cloths) are common, large ones like this are not often seen. The pattern and color differ between the front and back, suggesting it was carefully made. I don't know the details, but in my opinion, there are no noticeable stains and it doesn't appear to have been used much. However, threads are coming loose in places around the seams, so please consider this if you are not concerned about it or can easily repair it. I didn't see any unraveling in the cross-stitch patterns. I have taken as many photos as possible.
