The Scarab is a descent device developed through five years of research and testing, and it is touted to "change rope rescue systems as we know them." The frame and crossbar strength is over 40kN. In drop tests with an impact load of 13.3kN, the rope did not break, and the Scarab sustained no damage. Despite its small and simple design, it is an excellent piece of equipment capable of handling large loads. Rope twisting (kinking) does not occur even during long descents. Full locking is easy and can be used with either the left or right hand. It can be used with single or double ropes. The single friction bar allows for quick setup, and taking up the tail end of the rope is very easy.
