A 1/700 scale "Battle of the Atlantic" set. - Models: British O-class destroyer x 2, Pit-Road - Models: U-boat Type VII C x 1, Hasegawa - Models: U-boat Type IX C x 1, Hasegawa - Models: Bow and stern of a merchant ship breaking in two, Hasegawa - Scale: 1/700 I've put this set together myself. I've heard that the longest campaign in the European theater was the one fought over the sea lanes in the Atlantic. It's said that over 30,000 personnel from both the Axis and Allied forces, along with vast amounts of supplies, were lost. Furthermore, I've heard that nearly 30,000 civilian merchant seamen were also casualties. War is cruel to civilians. It's a rather understated battle that doesn't get much attention, but I think it's a history we shouldn't forget. I purchased these items new over 20 years ago. I'd also like to get CAM ships & Hurricanes, FW200s, and auxiliary cruisers, but if I did, it would become endless, with pocket battleships and the like... There is some soiling and damage to the box due to aging. The decals are also likely to have deteriorated. Please purchase only if you understand the above. Immediate purchase is OK.
